On Saturday, 10 May 2025, eleven members of the Deutsch-Englische Gesellschaft Bayreuth e.V. gathered for a charming and convivial teatime afternoon at Ladencafé 1777 in Pegnitz. Nestled in the heart of the town, the café that also sells British delicacies and gift ideas, provided a delightful setting with its warm atmosphere and welcoming ambiance.
In true British tradition, guests were treated to a lovely selection of refreshments. A variety of fine teas accompanied freshly baked scones served with clotted cream and jam, an assortment of delicate finger sandwiches, and a delicious choice of homemade cakes. The spread was not only a treat for the palate but also sparked conversations about the shared cultural traditions between Germany and the UK.
The afternoon offered a relaxed opportunity for members to reconnect, exchange stories, and enjoy the pleasures of good company over tea and treats. The blend of English hospitality and Franconian charm made the event especially enjoyable.
A heartfelt thank you goes to Ladencafé 1777 and everyone who attended and contributed to the warm and friendly atmosphere. We look forward to many more such gatherings that celebrate international friendship and shared traditions.
