From Scottish traditions and Irish celebrations to biscuits, books and a little mystery: 2027 promises another exciting year at the Deutsch-Englische Gesellschaft Bayreuth!

We are already looking forward to a new year of events, shared experiences and opportunities to explore the cultures of the English-speaking world together.
We will kick things off on 15 January with Burns Night, celebrating Scotland’s national poet Robert Burns, with a special Bayreuth connection to Jean Paul.
In March, we will be celebrating all things Irish at our St Patrick’s Day Party, before turning our attention to something rather sweet: Bayreuth’s Best Biscuit on 29 May! Our very own biscuit competition promises a delicious celebration of baking, creativity and, of course, plenty of tasting.
Book lovers can look forward to an English Book Flea Market in June, while September will bring a touch of mystery with our Agatha Christie Day. We are also working on plans for a Little Free Library and new English-language film evenings.
And, of course, our regular favourites will continue: Book Club, Conversation Evenings and Malts & Mates will offer plenty of opportunities to meet, chat and enjoy good company throughout the year.
Some details are still being finalised, so keep an eye on our website for updates and further information.
We look forward to sharing another wonderful year with you!
